Experience Hawaiian culture and science come to life through this special partnership workshop with INPEACE and the Science of Kapa Pop-Up Exhibit at Kukui Grove Center. Girls will take a hands-on journey through the traditional kapa-making process while exploring the scientific concepts behind transforming wauke (paper mulberry) into cloth.

Through interactive learning stations, participants will explore traditional Hawaiian tools, fermentation processes, ohe kāpala bamboo stamping, and the cultural significance of kapa in everyday Hawaiian life. This immersive workshop blends STEM learning with ike Hawaii, helping girls connect modern science with the brilliance of Native Hawaiian practices passed down for generations.

This experience is designed to inspire curiosity, cultural connection, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for Hawaiian knowledge systems through engaging, family-friendly activities.
