You’re going places, Girl Scout.
Girl Scouts love to travel—from the field trips they take as Brownies to the global adventures they go on as teens. If you love exploring different places and cultures, Girl Scouts is the place for you.
Are your Girl Scouts interested in traveling? Trips can be a field trip to the nearest fire station, a trip to Yellowstone Park, or even a two-week trip to Rome. Wherever your travels and adventures take you, GSH will help provide a safe and memorable experience. If your troop is meeting somewhere other than your normal location and time, doing a high adventure activity, or if your troop is going on a trip, our Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i Safety and Travel Guide will be the first place to start planning with your Girl Scouts.
What kind of trip are you ready for?
Start by looking at the Girl Scout Guide to U.S. Travel. This resource is designed for Juniors and older Girl Scouts who want to take extended trips—that is, longer than a weekend—but also features tips and tools for budding explorers who are just getting started with field trips and overnights. Talk about your travel dreams and goals with your troop.
Tip: be sure all Girl Scouts are registered, and all trip leader Adult Volunteers are registered with background checks that won’t expire before/on your trip, and list the Troop’s First Aider with a certification card. Trip approvals are only granted when the group meets all safety-wise ratios for the lowest program level of any Girl Scout attending, follows all Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints, meets all the training required, and receives council approval for the trip.
