Girl Scouts will participate in the 20th Annual Pinwheels for Prevention Project sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse, the State Department of Health and the Child Abuse Prevention Planning Council.
200+ metallic blue and white pinwheels will be planted on the
Catholic Charities lawn Wednesday April 1, 2026.
The pinwheel is the new national symbol of child abuse and neglect prevention and symbolizes the hope for the happy childhood of children.
Prevent Child Abuse will provide the pinwheels and tools to "plant" them. Additional tools will be helpful such as cordless drills (with a bit for drilling cement), rubber mallets, and a spike or long screwdriver (to make holes in the ground).
Patches will be distributed at check-in.
