Following our Lei of Aloha preparation event, Girl Scouts and the Kauai community will gather at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery to honor Hawaii's veterans.

Arrive early to help drape lei on headstones and quietly prepare additional lei during the ceremony, ensuring each hero is remembered. The ceremony will conclude with the draping of one large ceremonial lei around the flag pole. All Girl Scouts must be in full uniform to participate in the closing ceremony.

What to Expect

  • 9:15 AM - Early arrival & begin placing lei on headstones

  • 10:00-11:45 AM - Ceremony (continue lei prep quietly as needed)

  • 11:45 AM - Line up for closing flag ceremony (oversized lei)

  • 12:00 PM - Guest departure & optional Gift of Caring cookie distribution

Girl Scouts who register will receive a custom participation patch, and this service may count toward the Aloha Ambassador Patch or Honor Troop Program. Please wear closed-toe shoes, bring a water bottle, and come prepared to walk and participate respectfully in this meaningful tribute.
