Each year, there are not enough lei to place on every headstone-and our goal is to change that. Through this special service project, we will prepare ti leaf lei and fresh flower lei to ensure that as many heroes as possible are honored. Together, we will also create one large, full ceremonial lei to wrap around the flag pole as part of the Veterans Day tribute.
Kukui Grove Food Court Sunday May 24th 4-7pm
Girl Scouts, families, friends, and community members are invited to join us in this meaningful experience. Participants will work together on-site to braid ti leaf lei, sew flower lei, and contribute to the creation of the oversized lei. This is a beautiful opportunity for girls to serve, connect with the community, and show gratitude in a hands-on way.
We encourage everyone to bring a friend and help us grow this effort. Donations are greatly appreciated and needed to reach our goal. We are collecting:
Prepped ti leaf (ready to braid)
Fresh tropical flowers (such as torch ginger and heliconia)
24" flower lei
Pre-made ti leaf lei (large, full, and left open-ended so we can tie them together on the day of the event)
Donations from schools, local businesses, and community organizations are welcome and appreciated.
Girl Scouts who register will receive a Lei of Aloha patch. Registration is for girls only to confirm patch orders. Adults, family members, and friends are welcome to participate and do not need to register. This event is open to the public.
Come with open hands and a spirit of aloha as we work together to ensure that every hero is remembered and honored.
Patch payments are non-refundable.
