Brownie Design with Nature Camp - Oahu

January 24th- 25th, 2026

Camp Paumalu 96712, Haleiwa

Camp Theme will be Nature!

Spend a weekend designing with the best inspiration of all-nature! In this Girl Scout Brownie camp, girls will observe patterns, textures, and "engineering" in the outdoors, then use what they discover to plan and create their own nature-inspired designs. Brownies will work in small teams to brainstorm ideas, sketch plans, build prototypes, and test them against real-world challenges like wind, rain, shade, strength, and usability-just like real designers and engineers.

Over the course of camp, girls will:

  • Explore nature through a guided discovery hike and observation activities

  • Create art and patterns based on natural textures and shapes

  • Design and build a mini shelter and a useful camp tool inspired by nature

  • Test, improve, and redesign their projects using the Girl Scout design process

  • Share their creations during a fun "Design with Nature Expo" showcase

All activities are designed to help participants earn the Brownie Design with Nature Badge by the end of the weekend.

Adults who register to attend agree to be Chaperones and must complete a background check prior to camp. Please review our chaperone agreement form prior to registration. Adults will be randomly assigned to a group. Please be prepared to NOT be paired with your daughter's group. In order to assure maximum space for girl participation, adult chaperone spots are limited to the first 8.

BYO Lunch: Provide your own sack lunch on Saturday. Snack will be provided. If overnighting, Dinner & Breakfast will be served.

**Girls and Adult Chaperones must have their own sleeping bag.

Group / Sleeping Arrangements
One of the wonderful opportunities in going to camp is meeting girls/leaders from other troops and sharing new experiences. Your daughter will be randomly placed into a group. Troops should not expect to stay as a troop/unit for all activities. Girls will sleep in their own cabins. Girls and an adult chaperone will sleep in the same unit but not in the same cabin.
