Explore the Moon's Wonders at Bishop Museum! Join us for a Friday evening  Stargazing with a lunar focus on International Observe the Moon Night! Join Bishop Museum staff to see the Moon in all her glory.  You will be able to take part in celestial observations, learn about lunar and science exploration and even take pictures of the moon with your cell phone! We will have moon-themed activities ongoing throughout the evening.

Program includes:
  • Planetarium Show: Moons: Worlds of Mystery immerses you in the amazing diversity of moons and the important roles they play in shaping our solar system. Follow in the footsteps of astronauts to our silvery Moon, then venture beyond to unfamiliar and exotic worlds. Journey to the outer planets and their moons, returning home with newfound wonder about the dynamic and intricate solar system in which we all live.
  • Science on a Sphere: is a room-sized, global display system that projects visualizations of planetary data onto a six-foot diameter sphere to help illustrate Earth System science to people of all ages.
  • Themes Activities, Crafts & Stargazing
  • Pizza Dinner
  • Castle Memorial Building visit: Playing with Light: Created by Scitech in Perth, Australia and produced by Imagine Exhibitions, combines LIGHT, a fundamental element in our everyday lives, and PLAY, a means to ignite the imagination, in this fun exploration into light technology.
  • Science Adventure Center: Girls will become active participants in exploring areas of science in which Hawai'i has gained international recognition for cutting edge research - including volcanology, oceanography, and biodiversity.
 
Girl Scouts will earn the new Observe the Moon Patch

This is a GIRL ONLY event.
Bus Transportation is encouraged. 

Late night Pizza Snack is included in the fee per participant. You may provide your own water bottle and nut-free snacks.

There are limited spots open for Adult Chaperones. Please review the Adult Chaperone guidelines prior to registering for the event. All chaperones must be a registered 2024 member, cleared a background check prior to participating in a council event.

7:00 PM - Castle Memorial Building: Playing with Light self-guided
