Show your Aloha Spirit
Demonstrate the Aloha Spirit by making someone’s life better. Through our Aloha Ambassador Program, you will represent the Girl Scouts of Hawai`i to our community and sister Girl Scouts around the globe. Share with neighbors, welcome visitors to our islands, and create smiles. Girl Scout Aloha Ambassadors discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together while performing valuable community service.
Guidelines
Seek opportunities through Girl Scouts of Hawai`i Council Offices or work with your Service Unit Manager.
Troops must request project approval through their Service Unit Manager BEFORE beginning work to be recognized for this program based on the following criteria:
- Aloha Ambassador projects can not already recognized with another patch and should be beyond service to your sponsor.
- Your troop must complete five approved projects in the membership year (October-September annually). After completing five projects, a girl/troop may purchase a patch (first year of participation) or a rocker. (subsequent years of participation). Patches and rockers may be transferred to new uniforms as girls bridge to the next level(s).
After your troop has completed the requirements submit this form for approval and authorization to order patches/rockers through our Aloha Shop.
APPROVED ALOHA AMBASSADOR PROJECTS:
- Sign up and participate in “Sudden Service” to be contacted to help at Council events
- Host out-of-town groups (as requested by the Council or approved by your Service Unit Manager
- Flag Ceremony (Civic events, parades, etc.)
- March in parades
- Participate in community events
- Light clerical assistance at a Girl Scout Council or United Way office
- Participate at an official Girl Scout Council or service recruitment event
- Pre-Approved Community Service Project
- Connect with a troop from another state or country (“pen pal” troop)
- Perform, as a Girl Scout troop, in a hula/choir at a Girl Scout Council or civic event
