Each Girl Scout will receive a special custom patch to
recognize her participation.
Notes:
We meet at the
Memorial Plaza for check-in (9:30 a.m.) and the opening ceremony
(10:00 a.m. start).
Please bring a personal water bottle
and comfortable closed-toe shoes are a must. Sunscreen application is
highly recommended. Some graves are located a distance away from our
meeting place, so please be prepared to walk or drive to those
locations.
All Girl Scout participants, in addition to
receiving a patch, may have their Troop apply their service toward
their Aloha Ambassador Patch or the Honor Troop Program.
This program event is for REGISTERED GIRL SCOUTS, Family &
Friends.
*Participate in a separate lei-making
activity "Lei of Aloha," to make lei to decorate the Hawai`i
State Veterans Cemetery-Kaneohe.
When: Saturday, May 24th
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: Windward Mall, Center Court
Stage, 46-056 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744.
Come to
learn and contribute your lei making skills to create the many lei we
want for the next day's decoration of the Hawai`i State Veterans
Cemetery-Kaneohe.
Also, bring flowers, already made lei,
and flower stalks to the Mall.
Each Troop is asked to
make and contribute 10 lei (flower or leaves. NO artificial ribbon or
yarn) to fulfill the goal of making 10,000 lei to decorate the
veterans grave-sites.
There is a $5 fee to cover the cost
of a beautiful new "Lei of Aloha" Service Project Patch,
which is separate from the Memorial Day Service Project patch provided
to the participants who decorate the graves on Sunday afternoon.
