Anniversary Special: Registration is free for participants with a Hawaii State ID and Kauai address. All others pay the standard registration fee.
Girls of all ages are invited to join us for Girl Scouts Love State Parks as we travel "the only navigable river" in Hawaii - the Wailua River. During this two-mile journey, you'll hear songs and stories of ancient Hawaii, including the King's Highway, sacred Mount Kapu, and the First Hau Tree. Girls will also learn a hula, identify native plants and animals, and take a short nature walk to the Fern Grotto, formed millions of years ago.
During GSLSP, girls will:
- Discover the history of the Wailua River and Fern Grotto through songs, stories, and hula
- Connect with other girls and adults, building healthy relationships through cooperation and teamwork
- Take action by raising awareness of endemic plant and animal species, inspiring others to learn more
Girl Registration Fee Includes:

Schedule
1:15pm Arrive at Smith's Fern Grotto Tour check in with Marissa
1:30pm Check-in for boat tour
2:00pm Boat tour begins
3:20pm Boat tour ends
3:30pm Parent pick-up and check-out (see Marissa for patch)
