Open to: Entering 6th Grade Cadette, Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts and Adult Volunteers
 
This is our annual in-person required training to lead programs for our 2026 & 2027 Membership year. 
 
Learn to lead the Girl Scout way! At this overnight camp you and a group of your peers will explore different ideas about how to be a role model and mentor to younger Girl Scouts. By the end of the weekend, you'll walk away with all the tools you need to earn your Program Aide, Counselor in Training I/II, -OR-Volunteer in Training Award.
 
Teen Mentors and Program Aides are campers in grades 6-12 who support younger girls in partnership with adult staff. These teen mentors help lead activities and guide younger campers.
  • Grades 6-7 (PAs) will participate in leadership training and learn about what the next steps are for the Mentoring program
  • Grades 8-12 (TMs): Help campers with crafts, games and songs. Learn about leadership from CITs and staff.
  • Grades 9-12 (CITs): As a seasoned older girl, mentor TMs as well as younger girls, and take additional leadership opportunities such as planning or leading activities on your own.

 

Adult Camp Staff are volunteers who complete this annual training and take on leadership roles at council programs or camps.

Unless otherwise specified all positions require:

  • Minimum age 21
  • Current or Lifetime Girl Scout Membership
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check (with no restrictions)
  • Current Driver's License

Physical requirements of all camp staff positions include prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching; requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to utilize camp equipment.  Willing to live in a camp setting and work extended hours; and with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals and insects.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work in outside temperatures and potentially extreme conditions.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
  • Ability to physically assist campers with mobility impairment.
  • Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
  • Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury).
  • Possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.

ZOOM MEETING
  • Girls must attend a mandatory Zoom meeting on September 2, 2026 from 6PM-7PM. You will receive zoom link after registration closes and we finalize camp details.
  • Must attend in-person to complete training requirement

CHECK IN/OUT
Girl Scouts must remain in their vehicle until we are ready for check-in. For the safety and welfare of everyone, family members are not allowed to exit vehicles.  
*Additional procedures will be addressed in our mandatory zoom meeting prior to arriving at camp.

  • Closed-toe shoes are required
  • Girl Scout Polo Shirt
  • Day Pack & Overnight Bag (packing list will be provided)
    • Bottled Water
    • Bag Dinner for Friday (peanut free due to allergies)
