Volunteer Training

Aloha to our Volunteers

The Volunteer Toolkit is a comprehensive digital tool accessible via the web on your computers, smartphones, and tablets to help you have a fun and successful year with your troop! With the VTK, you can find instructions to help the girls earn badges, a Resources tab for anything you’ll need outside of meetings with girls such as insurance and financial information, and so much more!

The Volunteer Toolkit is now available. Just click "MY GS" in the upper right corner to get started!

Volunteer Training

Once you have completed the Volunteer Application and background check, you will need to complete the training steps listed below. Our goal is to provide adult volunteers with the necessary training and resources to deliver excellent programming for our girls and ensure their safety and protection. We require Girl Scout Leaders to complete training within a reasonable time of their appointment. Your Service Unit Manager or GSH Membership and Program Services Manager will be available to respond to questions and provide further information.

New Leader In-Person Training

This training will guide you through getting ready for your first troop meeting, setting up your year plan in the Volunteer Toolkit, as well as provides hands-on experience in guiding girls through an activity. Required for all new troop co-leaders.  Recommended for all troop volunteers.  A great refresher for those experienced troop volunteers!

  • Prior to In-Person Training you must complete the following steps:
  •  Register as an Adult Member through MyGS.
  • Complete a background check through Verified Volunteers.  Girl Scouts of Hawai`i does pay for this step.

NOTE: If you hold an out of state driver’s license we may have to process manually.  I’m able to assist with troubleshooting any issues you experience.
