Join us for a hands-on service opportunity at the beautiful and historic Liliuokalani Gardens!
The Friends of Liliuokalani have invited Girl Scouts to learn how to create Genki Balls-small, eco-friendly solutions to help improve the water quality in the park's ponds. A garden representative will be on hand to explain the process and the environmental impact of these innovative tools.
In addition to creating Genki Balls, Girl Scout participants will help beautify the gardens through weed pulling and trash collection, and take a guided tour of this unique space. Liliuokalani Gardens, located in Hilo, is a 24-acre park that honors Queen Liliuokalani, Hawaii's last reigning monarch. The gardens showcase traditional Japanese landscaping, with koi ponds, stone lanterns, arched bridges, and lush greenery. It's a peaceful and picturesque spot that reflects the deep cultural ties between Hawaii and Japan.
