VIRTUAL STEM CAMP
The demand for talented coders, game developers, robotics engineers, and designers continues to increase. STEM camp offers Girl Scouts hands-on activities with Female STEM Professionals. Gain skills for future careers and foster valuable 21st-century life skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration.
During STEM Camp, girls will have the opportunity to:
• Discover ways that STEM and the outdoors develop a strong sense of self, positive values and practical life skills. Connect with other girls and adults to develop healthy relationships through virtual cooperation, team building, and learning by doing. Take action to become resourceful problem solvers and learners who inspire others to act.
Virtual & Supply Requirements
• Must have internet access & Computer (with charging cord to keep on all day). Access to printer with paper -or- ability to view PDF documents and trace templates onto paper
• Able to download the following Apps:
o Microsoft Teams
• Provide basic supplies on your own: paper, pen, markers, crayons, tape, scissors, etc.
One of the wonderful opportunities in going to camp is meeting girls from other troops and sharing new experiences. You are encouraged to create a tent at home (indoor or outdoor) to participate in our virtual camp experience together. We will host a virtual campfire at 5PM HST. Everyone is encouraged to join with their “camp” backgrounds.
Registration fee includes fun patch and PDF activity templates (emailed prior to event date). There is NO REFUND for this event.
Breakout activity rooms will be recorded. Participants will have access to all activity recordings through Sunday 8PM HST. Live chat sessions will be open all weekend to communicate with our presenters in real time. Participate in as many activities you choose from 8/15 11am HST Saturday to 8/16 8PM HST Sunday.
