Hawaii Island Teen Mentor & Adult Camp Training
Girls have fun learning camp skills, camping logistics, camp safety, teaching the younger campers in their program stations as well as teaching Girl Scout camp songs, skits and traditions. All Teen Mentor grade levels (new or experienced) must take this training to work in Council Camps for Membership Year 2019 (MY 19).
Adult volunteers who want to volunteer in a leadership role at Council camps are required to take this training. Other adults who wish to have a better understanding and become more proficient at the Girl Scout Outdoor experience are strongly encouraged to attend. Potential camp roles include Camp Director, Program Director/Specialist, Camp Cook, Camp First Aider, PA/CIT Supervisor, Assistant Camp Director, Assistant Cook. All adults trained must pass a background check and must know that they are to be mentors to girl Program Aids, Counselors in Training 1 and Counselors in Training 2.
